How can I appeal a dismissal?

Modified on Wed, 20 Dec 2023 at 04:46 PM

If you were sent off for anything other than for 2 cautions or for foul and abusive language, you have 2 working days to submit an appeal through Whole Game, for example, if you are sent off on a Sunday, you have until Tuesday at 5pm to confirm your intention to appeal. Anything over this time will not be considered and the dismissal will stand.

You will then have a further 2 days to submit any evidence to Manchester FA in support of the appeal, so a dismissal on a Sunday will mean you have until 5pm on Thursday to submit your evidence. The appeal will then be heard before the suspension begins, and the club will be informed of the result at the earliest opportunity.

For information, the onus is on the club to show that the referee made an obvious error in dismissing the player, and the referee will not be asked to provide a report from the match. We would recommend submitting any video evidence through wetransfer.com if the file is over 10MB in size.
