If you are looking to start a new football team you have two main options
1. Affilate a team to an existing affiiliated club. This is the most straightforward approach and allows you to benefit from the clubs existing governance, policies, procedures, community and potentially facilities and league relationships. If you are unsure of any clubs in your area to approach you can search via https://find.englandfootball.com/ or please let us know and we can support you with this,
2. Set up a new club. Providing you meet all the requirements you can also set up a new club. Please refer to the "Setting up a Club section" of our website for information on what is required to do this. https://www.manchesterfa.com/leagues-and-clubs/setting-up-a-club
To set up a new club please complete our new club request form here: https://app.smartsheet.com/b/form/d6838bb4263f4d02a69b294f410c8a3b
You will need to ensure that your club officials have already completed the required safeguarding and player welfare qualifications for their roles. Please refer to the Safeguarding Roles Matrix below which explains what is required for club officials with youth, open-aged and/or disability teams. DBS applications can be completed once we have set up your club
Please also upload a Club Development Plan (if you have any U18 or below teams) or Season Planner (if you are just an open-aged team) to demonstrate your plans to run a sustainable club. Templates for these are available below.
